Recommended Rooms For Use

Generally, any room with a window could use a set of window blinds. Blinds are useful in any type of room, from small bedrooms to large conference rooms. They can even be used for other purposes besides covering windows – for instance, they can serve as room dividers for large private offices or to cover up sliding glass doors and glass walls. Below are some of the rooms that benefit well from blinds.

Living rooms

Living rooms usually have the largest windows in a home, making them one of the best places to install window blinds. Solid blinds hung over a wide window provide excellent shade, especially for large living rooms with a minimalist style. If your living room has a color theme, choose a matching color to complement the theme with a soft hue. Choose a pleated design to add texture to a plain wall. Place slatted blinds over a large window behind a couch or rocking chair to create a cozy nook for reading or relaxing.

Bedrooms

Blinds are perfect for bedrooms where the window overlooks the bed. They allow you to let the sunlight in gradually rather than in a burst of harsh light, as is common with pull-back curtains. For windows adjacent to a study desk or work table, slatted mini blinds are great for regulating light when working during the day.

Office

Blinds lend a clean, professional look to offices and commercial establishments. They help you create a well-lit working area for a small private office or an entire floor. Place vertical blinds over aluminum frames to divide a room into cubicles, or hang them over an office door for privacy. You can also use a retractable blind to cover up a projection screen or board when not in use.

Rooms with full-length windows and glass walls

Full-length windows and glass walls make your room unique and attractive, but they leave you open to public view. Vertical blinds protect your wall or window from such lost of privacy while preserving the aesthetic appeal of the glass surface. With vertical blinds, you can look out the window without being seen from the outside.

Rooms facing direct sunlight

If your room's window opens directly at the sun, blinds can help you reduce glare and heat. Curtains can do the same job, but they do not let you control the amount of sunlight that gets in. Slatted blinds work best for this type of room. The rotating mechanism allows you to let in just enough sunlight to illuminate the room, and even lets you direct the light to specific areas.
